How do schools in England work

How do schools in England work?
The teacher at school asked us to find information about other schools in different countries. I chose England but the thing is that I can't find anywhere on the internet any useful information so I'm asking here. What time do you go to school every morning? What subjects are you doing there? Are you studying any other languages except english, which? Do you have a cafeteria and eat there for lunch? Do you have to wear a uniform? Any other detail will be appreciated.

1. 8.00 am 2. Same as you 3. French, and many more 4. Some do, others are provided lunch in a mess hall 5. Yes People go to one school from Form I to VI (Junior School) and again join Form I and complete Form VI(Senior school). Form IV has "O" Levels exams and Form VI has "A" level exams(Senior School). After senior school students either get a job or migrate to universities. OK?

its called secondary school, we have 'years' not 'grades' lol yes we have a cafeteria, yes we wear uniform (public and private) we have to be there for 8.30am and leave at 3.00pm, oh and we only have 5 1/2 weeks of summer holidays, (if your american, i dont know, you have 104 days, ((learnt it off phineas and ferb)) which is quite a looooong time! :). i have picked to take spanish in my options, you can either pick either french or spanish... subjects you pick for year 10 and 11 (including maths, english science, PSHE, P.E and your options) , year 7,8,9 you are given subjects. when you finish, you can either stay in school which is called six form or go college then head off to university hope it helped.

In case you think English school kids are hard done too with regard to holidays, you should be aware that there are 3/4 week holidays at Christmas and Easter and half term (semester) weeks between these holidays - I think this differs from the US where you just get a couple of days off at holidays with all being aggregated during the summer.

not sure but living in LONDON is expensive.

You would possibly need to obtain a working visa - you should contact the Foreign Office who should be able to give you more information on your eligibility to live and work in England.
3 :
The UK does have a program where graduates of its universities can stay in the country under the "post study worker scheme". Here is info on all that: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier1/poststudy/ It is also possible that a UK employer would chose to hire you, and sponsor your work visa, but that is highly unlikely unless you study something that is in great demand.

From the frequencies it supports, yes. However, some phones are "SIM-locked", i.e., you cannot use them with cards other than the ones issued by your own provider. If you want to buy a new cellphone card in Germany and put it in, that may not work. To find out if yours is locked and won't work with a different SIM card, you need to ask your provider company. If you do not plan on changing cards, you're phone will most probably work.
