How do I change DVD's from England to work in Canada

How do I change DVD's from England to work in Canada?
I stayed in England and Scotland for a while so I had bought some DVDs to watch. Not really thinking about the different formats, I bought some for my boyfriend. They don't work on his DVD player at his parents house but they do work on my laptop. I was going to rip them and then burn them to DVDs for us but I can't find a program that will work. How can I make these movies work?

If I buy an iPod Touch in America, will it work in England

If I buy an iPod Touch in America, will it work in England?
I'm going to America in April and I want an iPod Touch, so I decided I'd buy it whilst in America because it would be cheaper. I was wondering if it would still work ok because they connect to the internet and stuff? My mum bought an iPod Mini in New York about 5 years ago and it worked fine, but technology has moved on a lot from then. So, will it work? Thanks :)

Yes it would and as you say it would be a lot cheaper. We are 4 in my family and we live in the UK. We all have Ipods and we bought them all in the USA. They work perfectly Hope this helps ;)

Will the appliances I have in the US work in England or should I replace them after my move

Will the appliances I have in the US work in England or should I replace them after my move?
I have heard that the electricity is set up differently in the UK and was wondering if I should even bother taking any of my current appliances. Thanks

I think there is some type of converter that you can use. If you are paying for the move you may be better off selling the ones you own and buying new ones.

Usual current in The US is 110 volts, in the UK 220. Some things like your laptop can handle both. Check the manuals.
