you must check with your local authorities if you need a visa to get there and a work permit as well. Then, send application letters to shops where you would like to work before leaving your country; once you have found a job, you need a place to stay, so that's another thing to consider before leaving...

would an american studio microphone work in england....?
heyy, guys i really need help! would a studio microphone and a mixer work if i bought it from america to work in england? i will buying the microphone and mixer in america but, i will buy the wires to plug them in in england? do you think it would work here? or will it bake with the voltage? thxz

The microphone shouldn't be a problem but the mixer needs to be able to draw UK power instead of US power. For this you will need at least an adapter for the plug and you may need a power converter, depending on your mixer's requirements. It's hard to say without knowing what mixer you're talking about.

I agree with Dave. I believe they have 220-240 volts AC in the UK just like most other places, so if you have the same where you come from, you don't have to worry about a power converter. But if you already have a power supply for the mixer that plugs into 220-240 volts AC, be sure to bring that. Have a nice trip!

If someone goes to England to work, if he's not from another EU country, he'll need a work permit. He needs to show he can bring something to the table, skills, education etc. A work permit holder needs to live in the UK for 5 years before being able to apply for permanent residency. will an american bought nintendo DS work in England?
my sister is going to new york this week and i want her to buy me a nintendo DS as it is cheaper but will it work witht he games here and can i buy a converter to charge it up?

I do not think so. I have an american DS I live in Canada. It doesn't work with games from Japan I can tell you that.

I don't know. I have a computer which was manufactured in the US. I have a couple games that I bought in the UK, and they work. PlayStation games did not. The playstation worked with US version games, with a power converter. You can buy a converter to charge it. They are rather big, any electronics store should carry them.
