Will a New Zealand restricted driver licence work in england

Will a New Zealand restricted driver licence work in england?
If I get a restricted drivers licence in New Zealand and move to the U.K will I be able to drive on the roads or will I need to take all the provisional tests again? And if you don't know the answer please dont guess because it is quite important. The rules from what I have seen are very similar, and we were colonised by the brits, we drive on the left too...

Provisional tests seem very likely, there are different road rules here, we also drive on the left etc..

No you can't, you will have to go through all the process again, but according to British rules. If you want to know about it, just plug on the web UK driving Licensing DVLA. You can't even secure any international driving license at this stage, anywhere. And regulations in other EU countries are quite similar. (Don't forget that Britain is driving left side, with left-handed wheel cars).

Hi. The UK authorities only recognise a full licence from 'designated countries' such as New Zealand. Unfortunately, you will be eligible to apply only for a provisional licence with all the restrictions that entails. You don't say how old you are - but please remember that the starting age for driving a car in the UK is 17.
