if i buy canon camera in america will it work in england

if i buy canon camera in america will it work in england?
it sounds a silly question but if i buy the canon powershot camera in america, will i be able to use it in england? the reason i ask this is because dvd's have different region codes so i was wondering about the cameras! i mean will the camera work with things that connect to it and stuff.. like if i bought a charger from england or anything that connects to the camera from england, will it all work together properly?

Yes. As long as you take a tape or DVD to use with you. You can't charge it there though unless you have a converter. Electrical sockets are different there.

You will need to check and see if the video feature has a NTSC and PAL option. Otherwise all you will have to do is supply the correct mains plug adapter from US to UK

As long as you have a charger for 220 voltage and the correct wall plug yes. I also agree with David that you'll need to record video in PAL to have it work correctly there if you plan to play back on a television. NTSC is the US standard, PAL in Europe and the UK. If your camera has the option to record in either you'll be fine. If it's only NTSC you'll have problems there.

But why buy it in the US if you live in England? The warranty will be good only in the US, so you would have to send it to the US for any repair. If you are living in the US and going to England for vacation or to live temporarily, then, of course it will work there! It just needs the converter for the charger.
