If i were to get one from the US would it work if i put my O2 sim in it? i imagine i wouldnt get free browsing?

Doubtful you would have to pay international rates in order to use it on the UK I would think AMERICA'S NUMBER ONE ahhh go cry Brit and eat your biscuits and tea in your garden mate

No, it won't. You must either, a) Buy an iPhone from O2 or b) Unlock the iPhone.
